摘要：近年来，信息技术的迅猛发展促使多媒体课件在大学英语课堂教学中得到了推广及运用。根据大学英语的教学特点，本文分析了多媒体课件在大学英语课堂教学过程中的主要优势，同时也指出大学英语多媒体教学过程中存在的突出问题，认为多媒体课件在课堂上只有被恰当合理地运用，才能起到促进大学英语教学的目的。

多媒体课件是教师根据不同教学要求和目的，将文字、图形、图像、声音、动画、影像等多种媒体素材融为一体，从而制作出各种精彩纷呈的幻灯片课件。近年来，随着社会信息技术的发展，多媒体课件被越来越广泛地应用于大学英语教学中，已经成为大学英语教学的一种重要教学手段。下面，笔者从自身课堂教学实践对使用多媒体课件的大学英语教学作简单分析。

一、在大学英语课堂教学中使用多媒体课件教学模式的必要性

(一)改变传统教学模式的必要在传统的教学方式下，大学英语课堂上利用的媒体是粉笔、黑板,教学过程单调，费时，同时受时间和空间的限制，教学内容局限于教材，学生获取信息和知识的途径十分狭窄。而英语是一门实践性很强的学科，语言的形成有赖于一定的环境和背景。在大学英语课堂教学中广泛使用使学生视听觉并用的多媒体课件，把教学内容及其延伸情景生动逼真地再现眼前，并在提供语言操练和摹仿上起到其他教学手段无法相比的作用，可以大幅度提高学生的学习效率和教师的教育效果。

(二)大班教学的需要

大学英语教学需要给学生较多的语言实践机会，但我国目前高校普遍非英语专业的学生人数都具有班额大、学生多的特点。如果教师单纯采用传统的教学模式，那么在有限的课堂45分钟内就无法让每个学生真正参与到活动中来。多媒体课件教学是一种以学习者为中心的开放式教学模式，它促进了英语课堂教学的多信息、高密度、快节奏，使教师有可能、也有条件把教学的重点转向培养学生的语言应用能力上，为学生创造尽可能真实的语言教学环境和更多的语言实践机会。

(三)学生认知心理的需要

1990年，耶鲁大学教授Edward Tufte在解释为什么最有效的信息传播媒介是可视图像而不单单是靠听觉时指出：“信息图像化本身就满足了每一位学生的不同需要，使其能以各自不同的方式和各自不同的进度来对图像化的信息进行个别化与理性化的筛选和理解。图像化的信息本身就给学生提供了一个同步进行的可控宽频带通道。而单纯口授是无法达到这一点的”。

在目前情况下，只有多媒体课件才能在大学英语课堂上充分调动学生的视听和其它感觉器官，从而获得最佳的认知效果。

二、在大学英语课堂教学中使用多媒体课件教学模式的优势

(一)有利于激发学生的兴趣，培养学生自主学习的能力现代大学英语教学强调学生自主学习能力的培养。使用多媒体课件的大学英语课堂教学图文并茂、声像同步可使学生手、脑、眼、耳并用，弥补传统教学方法在直观性和动态感等方面的不足，使学生处在轻松愉快的氛围中学习知识，他们从“被灌输”状态转向“自主”状态，真正体现了学生的认知主体作用，促进他们英语自主学习能力的'提高。

(二)有利于提高学生的跨文化交际意识和语言综合运用能力大学英语教育目标是培养学生的语言综合运用能力。为此，在大学英语课堂上就要给学生提供能进行语言实践活动的自然情境和教学情境。多媒体课件教学可提供声像情景等使学生置身于真实的语言环境之中，他们在体验西方文化氛围的同时产生一种需要运用英语的激情，从而使学生在真实的语言环境中提高了听、说、读、写的综合语言应用能力和跨文化交际意识。

(三)有利于提高大学英语教学质量和效率大学英语课本包括了听、说、读、写的综合要求，教学信息量极为庞大。按照传统的教学方法，一节课讲的内容有限且效果不佳。而多媒体课件能在有限的时间内将大量的文字和影像清晰地展现在学生面前，大大节约了传统教学模式写板书和放录音机的时间，大大提高了信息输出量，可以帮助教师在有限的时间内极大满足学生的求知欲，促进和提高大学英语教学质量和效率。

三、多媒体课件在大学英语课堂教学中的突出问题

(一)多媒体课件对课堂教学灵活性的束缚在使用多媒体课件的大学英语课堂教学中，课件的内容已经预先输入，于是在教学过程中教师往往会迁就课件，依赖课件。然而，课堂教学的实际情况不可能完全预设，但受多媒体课件约束，教师只能竭力使教学环节与课件相吻合，而且教师由于要操作电脑，整节课站在讲台上，学生直接看到的是屏幕，这就使教学组织活动变得被动不灵活。

(二)多媒体课件对英语学习气氛的抑制大学英语教学课堂上学生之间的交流，师生之间的互动，同学之间的互助合作和相互竞争，教师对学生的鼓励和启发是最好的学习氛围。使用多媒体课件的目的之一就是促进和活跃这种学习氛围。但不少的英语教师在教学过程中以操作计算机为主，学生随着教室的屏幕演示过程而学习，这种学习气氛变得呆板而冷漠。

(三)多媒体课件对学生学习效果的影响心理学研究表明，当人们注视屏幕时，头脑活动会减慢，思维活动受到屏幕内容的抑制。如果在大学英语教学过程中使学生过分依赖多媒体课件提供的声像信息，就会影响他们的思维能力。多媒体课件单位时间内传递给学生的信息量大，并且速度快，在课堂上的停留时间较短。当传送给大脑的信息量超过大脑的接收限度时，学生就会感到头昏脑胀，烦躁不安。显然，学生在这种状态下是不会获得好的学习效果的。

四、如何解决使用多媒体课件的大学英语课堂教学中存在的突出问题(一)坚持“教师为主导，学生为主体”的教学原则多媒体课件在制作和使用时要明确学生是学习的主体，是发展的主体，教师是课堂的主导者。课件不可代替和剥夺学生在课堂上的主体地位。教与学是一系列的双边活动，教师切忌把课堂变成忙于进行多媒体课件的演示课。只有将教师的主导性与多媒体课件的辅助性结合起来，才能获得良好的教学效果。

(二)使用多媒体课件与传统教学模式有机结合原则教师要明确传统教学方式的主导地位。目前广泛应用的多媒体课件，仍是一种辅助性教学手段。教师在课堂上通过娴熟的教学语言、手势等对外语知识的阐述，与学生面对面的交流与探讨是传统授课方式的优势。多媒体课件与传统教学模式相结合，加强教学互动性，并通过板书给学生留下反思发问的时间和机会，这样会远远胜过电脑屏幕整齐划一的显示方式。
